This is what City workers are receiving in their email today:

    Dear All
You will be aware of the recent media reports of the planned demonstrations/protests in respect of the above ["G20 Meltdown"]. Anarchists and anti-capitalists intend to hold a 24 hr ‘Reclaim the Streets’ style event in the City. Attendance can be expected to be between 1,000-2,000, although this cannot be confirmed
The City is likely to be subject to significant disruption for the duration of the summit. Heightened security measures, traffic congestion and road closures should be expected. Four parades starting at 11am on Wednesday 01 April 09 from four main railway stations around the edge of the City of London – Moorgate, Liverpool St, London Bridge and Cannon St – which will eventually converge together at the Bank of England at around noon.
Whilst we do not believe our City office is at risk, it is essential that suitable precautions are taken. Having consulted with our own Building Manager, the Metropolitan Police and banking institutions in and around the City of London, the following precautions have been agreed:-
All client meetings here or off-site to be cancelled unless in exceptional circumstances.
All staff to dress down to avoid the possibility of confrontation whilst on the street or public transport.
Non essential staff or those who can work from home, with line management agreement, to do so.
Staff from other Lark offices should avoid travel to the London office.
In addition, security at Ibex House will be increased. A partial lockdown of the building on the 1 April will include locking of both single leaf entrance doors, physical locking of interconnecting doors between the Health Club and Ground floor corridor.
It would be appreciated if the following requests are adhered to:-
Keep removals/deliveries to a minimum, no large deliveries (more than 1 trolley load) if possible.
    Use the Delivery Proformas.
    Keep Visitors/Couriers to a minimum.
Use the Visitor Proforma. Access control proximity cards/fobs to be used by all Occupiers all of the time, disabled gate will only be used for its intended use or deliveries for Tenants who cannot access from the rear of the building.
Database reports have recently been sent to you all for updating, so all Occupiers should now be in possession of an access card/fob.
Staff movement into and out of the building should be kept to a minimum over the period.
Cleaning and other Contractors to display their Building I.D. at all times.
It would be prudent to leave cars and bicycles at home for the day.
Encourage all staff to maintain vigilance, do not allow tailgating to occur, do not be embarrassed to challenge anyone on your floor who may not be familiar to you..
Report anything suspicious, immediately to Security.
Should the above cause any work related problems or concern, please contact your Manager/Divisional Director.

…and no sooner had I posted that, than this arrived in my own Inbox:

This weekend March 28 & 29, the entrance of the main reception of the VBR office will be locked. Access can be obtained via front security staff through the intercom system.
We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

the inter office memo is only to be expected. It will be an honour to be involved in the protests, showing solidarity is vitally important. All the same I do not beleive those in power will be defeated, only perhaps driven to curb their behavour. I beleive our ‘valiant’ (cowardly) leaders would quite happilly inprison torture and kill anyone who they see as a threat to their seat of power. Oh thats right, they already are. and we have let them. As for arming Isreal (USA outpost and recipient of American Nuclear weapons), do you wonder why the ocupied status of Palestine is played down so heavily? I do know our news is all censored and ’spun’ (the politically correct term for bullshit). How do we really know what is going on?
I hope I will learn more tomorrow.
    Power to the people.
